Postunder Workshop - How to Build A Zamfir

What you need:

- 2 popsicle sticks or cardboard strips

- a bunch of straws

- crayons

- glue

1. Paint 1 side of each popsicle stick.

2. Cut a length of straw about the width of your stick and glue it to the edge.

3. Cut another length of straw, a few centemeters longer than your last one, and glue it next to your first strip. Keep cutting and glueing strips of straw, each one longer tha the previous one. When you have reached the end of your stick, or you have reached a point where you can no longer cut from your straw, stop.

4. Glue the other stick on top of your straws and wait to dry.

7. Jim-Jam! The zamfir produces a sort of comb-filtered resonant noise. Try in a big room with lots of reverb.
